I have something to share with you

On writing a belated blog post about something I'm really proud of

So I just published a blog post.

It's my second in a couple of months.

I think I shared the first one was basically a little review of the workshop I did at the end of the year.

I was reflecting on the fact that this is the first like real blog post I feel like I've published in three years, two and a half years.

I haven't written publicly regularly since the end of 2020.

It's the beginning of 2024 now.

And for those of you who don't know me that well, that was my whole career before coaching.

I was a journalist, I was in marketing, I ran an employer branding agency and it's been really interesting because, I'm not blogging, I wouldn't say like I'm not like writing regularly, but one of my intentions for this year was to publish a couple of posts alongside this Museletter.

And yeah what I've been noticing is that,

Writing has actually always been a rather difficult process for me.

Like I can do it relatively quickly and I'm pretty good at it just because I've done it for a long time, but it doesn't ever feel easeful.

And so I was having a hard time really sitting down and like getting through it.

And so one of the interesting things is that since I went away from this process for so long and then came back to it,

the process really changed.

What ended up really working for me was to just dictate, to walk around my room and pace with my headphones in and dictate into a doc that will actually give you a pretty good transcript what I was thinking.

It's kind of how I've always written.

I've always written through my own voice and the way that I talk.

But to actually do it that way and then I just edited it afterwards was really useful it really worked.

It helped me get stuff down faster so that's interesting.

The other thing I'm noticing is just like it feels kind of vulnerable to write.

And I think maybe this post feels doubly vulnerable because I'm writing about something that really matters to me and and that was a really special experience that I'm really proud of.

Basically I got to fly to California and do a really lovely discussion and show opening for one of my former clients who's a photographer in October last year, which is part of why I didn't publish a newsletter for three *months, is one of the many things that I was doing.

And I'm a little embarrassed that it's taken me four months to write a blog post about it but I really wanted to commemorate it.

I mean I wanted to share it with everyone and I wanted to give sort of my part of the backstory.

We recorded it, so there's a video, but obviously he talks more, which he should in that situation, about his experience and I wanted to share a little bit about mine too.

But yeah the other thing it really got me thinking about is how

But yeah the other thing it really got me thinking about is how

at Least for me, writing has been for my whole life a way to remember and set down in history kind of what's going on and what we're thinking about and what's important to us.

And I think it's so easy to lose track, especially of how we think as that evolves.

And so I'm glad to have it and I'm really glad to make a note of this moment

in both of our growth and just the work that we got to do with other people and especially for me really showing up more visibly as someone that's supporting Following Energy and practicing energy work alongside my coaching work.

And it feels good.

It also feels like I can feel it, to do that.

Yeah.

And finally, I just I'm sharing it here to share it with all of you.

There was also a part of me that was like, you can't make a whole newsletter about something you did that you just want to tell people about.

So of course, I'm also sharing some of my process around it.

But and also

I also want to share it with, you know, it's something I'm proud of and that I want to share with my community and people that I care about.

So yeah, I hope maybe you'll check it out.

I'd love to hear questions or interesting things you notice from it.

Yeah, and I'll see you again soon.
