Just keep doing the things

Even when you're not sure they're helping — they are

0:00 Hey y'all. I've been thinking about what's real for me, which is what this Museletter is supposed to be about, and, honestly, everything's felt really floaty the last week or two, especially last week. I just feel kind of disconnected.

0:28 A little disappointed, a little, honestly, potentially a little depressed, which is energy that I've been around and worked with enough in my life to know when it's sort of on the edge.

0:47 And you know, I was sitting with all this energy this morning and doing my reflection, and thinking about what's under all of it.

0:58 And I had some insights, but the other thing that I thought was helpful that might be helpful for you all.

1:07 Is just this idea of doing the things you know are good for you, even when it doesn't feel like they're working.

1:20 I've seen this in my business recently, too. I like this idea that one of my coaches Aila has of being “discouragement proof.”

1:35 And, yeah, I was just thinking about the things that I know to do that keep me healthy and sane.

1:47 Like eating well and exercising and meditating and journaling and dancing and seeing friends and taking my supplements. You know, all those things.

2:02 And I'm doing those! I'm doing those. And some weeks it feels like it's not working. Like last week it just felt like it wasn't working that well.

2:13 I just felt down in the dumps. And I'm sure some of that was circumstantial. There were just some things that happened and things got moved and, you know, I wasn't in service as much as I'd like to be, which matters to me.

2:29 But I think as I was reflecting, I was just thinking, like, I think this is one of those moments where I've been here enough and I know, like, just keep going.

2:37 Like, just keep doing the stuff and it'll work. It is working. There is no working or not working, right? And kind of the same with my business is like, you know, it was feeling like it wasn't working, you know, a couple of weeks ago.

2:53 And I had a good reflection with another coach and it was just like, whenever things feel like they're not working, I at least have a tendency to be like, I need to try new things.

3:02 I need to change everything. I need to do a new thing. I'm like not doing the right things, like, you know, my brain gets spun up and it wants to figure out what’s going on.

3:11 Sometimes that's about following the energy, which I think is super useful and noticing what's blocked and where there's flow, like I've talked about and, that can be helpful. But sometimes, like this week, it feels like it's just about, like, just keep doing the things.

3:28 You know, like just keep reaching out and talking to people, just keep being helpful, just keep telling people what I'm up to, just keep offering, you know, to serve people when and where I can, and yeah, I guess the thing I just remembered now, in this moment is, yeah, just like, we're not, we're not in control, right?

3:51 This is one of those moments where we show up and do our part, we do our half of the equation, we do what we can to allow ourselves to show up the best that we can.

4:00 But then some things are just out of our hands, and not to take those things personally, and not to let them kick us off of our track that we know that we're meant to be on. And yeah, I know I'm supposed to be here, and doing this, and I have a lot of indications that I am taken care of and things are going well.

4:22 So, I'm just leaning into those things right now. And I hope you all are too. And if you want to talk about anything, I'm here.

4:36 So, I hope you're doing well. Take care.
